Every shoot that takes place in my California boudoir studio is different, because every woman brings her own story, her own personality, and sometimes even her own props. One of my recent clients is an archeologist who specializes in Chumash, and she wanted to bring a piece of her career into the studio. She showed up with her hard hat and bright orange safety vest, items you’d normally only see on a dig site, not paired with lingerie. She wanted to surprise her husband with a sexy twist on her work attire.
At first, she was a little unsure. Putting on the vest in front of the camera felt awkward, and she laughed about how out of place it seemed. But once we started shooting, she relaxed and found her rhythm. Soon, she was playing with the hard hat, slipping into poses, and really enjoying herself.
The final photos turned out amazing. The hard hat and vest added such a unique and unexpected twist, blending her career with her confidence and femininity. It was the perfect reminder that boudoir is about celebrating who you are, whether that’s with lace, silk, or even a safety vest.
