First off, let me start by saying that I am a mom of twins so I never put myself first, I’m very awkward in front of the camera and I have never done anything like this before (nor did I think I had the courage to).
I have always wanted to do a photoshoot with Caroline Malouf but I was intimidated thinking that my body didn’t look the way it did prior to kids but, secretly, I always desired to do it and coveted her work. I finally bit the bullet and booked my appointment.
On the day of the appointment, I arrived and hair and makeup was waiting for me. Caroline’s assistant was there ready with an entire rack of lingerie for me to choose from and she looked over items that I had brought as well. I explained that I wanted two different styles of photos; one set I could use for social media or share with friends and family and the second set was to be for private eyes only. Caroline understood perfectly and assured me that she was capable of achieving both with ease.
From the first click of the camera Caroline had perfectly posed me and was giving feedback in a positive manner as to how I should move, hold my hands, angle my shoulder, cross my legs…every little detail. I felt so comfortable that she was thinking of everything to make me look beautiful, and because of that I was able to relax and actually have a bit of fun with it all.
After the session ended, I was on pins and needles waiting to see my images and I was THRILLED with the end product. I could not believe how many beautiful photos there were and how I looked in them. My first reaction was to say “wow, you did a great job making me thinner in Photoshop.” To which Caroline replied, “these images are NOT Photoshopped!” I was dumbfounded at my perception of my body vs how it looked in the photos. This is probably the most pivotal thing to come from the shoot; I had found all new confidence and appreciation for my body. I felt beautiful, desirable and empowered. I didn’t go into the shoot with this expectation and was just so pleasantly surprised about the life lesson I had been given.
I will forever cherish my photos as well as my new personal outlook. Caroline is a genius and I tell everyone about what a positive experience I had.
